About the Fly Responsibly campaign
Fly responsibly is a campaign supported by a trifle of institutions, specifically the Ministry of Transport, the Civil Aviation Authority and, above all, Air Traffic Control. The campaign was launched in 2019 in the context of the increasing popularity of drones and the associated increasing number of pilots flying beyond the limits, of what we can consider safe drone operation. Its aim is to inform both professional and hobby pilots about the applicable rules for flying and thus prevent possible injuries or property damage. It is based on the assumption that the pilot's ignorance, not his intention, leads to most cases of breaking the rules.
The Fly Responsibly project initially focused primarily on informing the public about the new European harmonized rules (effective from 1 January 2020). Later, it became clear, that it would not be a one-time transition from Czech legislation to European legislation, but that for a certain period of time, pilots and drone operators will be required to be familiar with both legislative frameworks. That's why we, the Fly Responsibly team, try to make the path to this up-to-date information as easy as possible for both pilots and drone operators, as well as the general public. We know very well, that this is not a walk in the park.
